NAFSA eConnection「JAFSA on-demand session」

「JAFSAセッション(JAFSA Session)」とは、2011年より毎年NAFSAからJAFSAに対して特別枠をオファーされて実施している、日本の高等教育に関する発表です。 2011年の東日本大震災を受け、震災関連の発表を依頼されたのが始まりですが、以降は日本の高等教育に関する発表の場となっています。 2014年からは文部科学省にも発表を依頼しており、各大学の個別事例とともに日本の実情や今後の目標などをプレゼンテーションする良い機会となっています。
通常、セッションはNAFSAの厳しい審査を通り採用されないと実施されませんが、JAFSAに予め枠が付与されているのは特別なことであり、これは長年の実績に基づくものです。発表テーマはNAFSAからリクエストがありますが、それに基づきJAFSA理事が内容を企画し、JAFSA理事校を中心に発表者を選抜し、文科省の協力も得て行ないます。

JAFSA was supposed to deliver this session at NAFSA2020 Annual Conference in St. Louise as the representative of “STUDY in JAPAN”, but NAFSA 2020 was cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic. STUDY in JAPAN had this honor to deliver the session as "on-demand Session" at NAFSA 2020 eConnection.
今年度のNAFSA2020年次大会はCOVID-19の感染拡大の影響で中止となった為、"2020 NAFSA eConnection”（今年初試行されるNAFSAのデジタルプログラム）“内のオンデマンドセッションとして以下を発表しております。

Session Summary

Higher education institutions around the world have faced various issues in the process of internationalization and university governance is one of the key points for a university’s transformation. This session focuses on the university governance reform in Japan from the points of its higher education policy and presents a case of a national university rethinking internationalization of higher education. This session is presented by the Japan Network for International Education (JAFSA).
